Congrats to all!!! What's New in the Orchestra Program Welcome to all new orchestra students and their families. This year's participation in orchestra is a record-breaking 97 students. For the first time ever, Chantilly High School now has three orchestras. To keep up with such growth must come change, and some of the changes you will see this year are modified uniform policies, updated concert attire for the girls, new storage lockers for instruments, our own "Orchestra Brown Box" (located in the band room), more fundraising opportunities for individual student accounts, and the institution of a modest "participation" fee for all orchestra students to help make all of the other changes possible. Tag Day Update A record number of Orchestra Students participated in Tag Day this year, bringing in just under $5,000 for the orchestra program. Thanks to all our parent drivers and a special thanks to our check-in table volunteer, Alice McDonnell, and our two counting room volunteers, Linda Dyer and Barbara Fay. Homecoming Parade Float Thanks to parents Stacey Freschett and Noreen King and to an enthusiastic group of ghoulish orchestra members, the orchestra was well represented in the Homecoming Parade this year, advertising our upcoming Halloween Concert, "Spooked on Classics". Upcoming Events The Orchestra's 6th annual fall concert, "Spooked on Classics" will be held on Thursday, October 27th at 7:30 p.m. This is a great performance for young and old alike, complete with costumes, a "BOOtifully" decorated stage, and after-show treats for all the youngsters. Admission is $3.00. Mark your calendars!
Student Account balances are posted on the orchestra bulletin board. How are you doing? It's not too early to start saving for this year's spring trip! Questions about your account? Contact Barbara Fay.
